Cinqo / Edge 500 data drops

I currently have an Edge 500 (v2.4) paired with my Cinqos (I have more thqan one). I am finding that I get periodic (it varies, but as frequent as 2/minute) data drops, wherein the power and cadence reported is 1/2 of the true value (occasionally there will be a 1/3 drop). No problems with speed, etc. The drops can be seen both live on the Edge 500 screen, and in the download (to WKO+).
I've changed batteries without a significant difference. Yesterday, after a water stop, I noticed the drops occuring at a higher rate, I rescanned for the PM in the head unit while riding and got the drops to cut back. Is this a know problem? Are there fixes? Perhaps the magnet postion is a factor?

i have seen this with a saturn and my trek equinox ttx. i was using the magnet mounted on the metal ring behind the bb cup thingy. i prised the magnet off and placed (stuck it to the frame with tub tape) it further away from the reed switches (the ring on the back of the cinqo) and the problem dissapeared instantly. it was particulary noticable when riding on the turbo (but also on the road)

Thanks for the reply. However, I just want to clarify: you moved the magnet further away from the pick-up ring? Seems counterintuitive.

it does doesnt it. but it worked. maybe because there a 5 reed switches (presumption) then if 2 get activated then its 2/5ths the value of cadence or as near as damn it a 3rd (2 ,6ths) totally guessing here and im sure the firmware should figure this out. anyhow it solved my problem. good luck.
