Quarq

Am considering purchasing a Quarq power meter for my new Trek Madone 6.9 Di2 equipped bike. Read in one of the reviews, albeit almost a year old now, that the Edge computers do not pick up Normalized Power or TSS from the Quarq. This is a very important data element that my coach uses to plan my rides and to ascertain how i am doing. Thus, here are my questions.

First, is that still the case? Second, if so, is the Quarq compatible with any other computers that would do so?

Thx

I'm no expert, but I have a quarq cinqo paired with a garmin edge 705 (actually I have 3 Cinqos, one for road, TT and travel bikes). When I upload my data to WKO+, I always get readings for Normalized Power and TSS. i think they're calculations based on plottable power data, rather than additional data that are "picked up" by either the powermeter or the head unit. but other people who are smarter than I may know differently.

Love my Cinqo. get one. or three.

Adam is correct, NP or TSS are calculations based on data from the powermeters. The Joule 2.0 from Saris is supposed to have those metrics available on it when it starts shipping.

I love my Quarq. Had it all season with great reliabilty and training results. Had some intermittant power readings on my garmin 705 today. Couldn't troubleshoot it myself. Called the 800 number after hours and am willing to bet got one of the owners Mieke with her one year old daughter in the background. Walked me through multiple steps and it is working great. Which is important because my "A" race for the season is Saturday. Unbelievable support. Thanks a ton.
