quarqd and Garmin GSC-10

Hi,

I have a Garmin ANT+ USB stick, a Garmin GSC-10 (speed/cadence sensor) and am trying to use quarqd to look at the speed/cadence coming out.

quardq is seeing the GSC-10 and appears to be pairing with no problems.

check cinqo Product id 4657 Manu id 1efb Product version a3 Product version cvs rev#163 Product version 0 | 163 <HardwareRevision id='5776d' timestamp='1264547008.03' version='163' /

<Manufacturer id='5776d' timestamp='1264547008.03' mfg_id='7931' /> <ModelNumber id='5776d' timestamp='1264547008.03' model_id='18007' /> check cinqo Product id 4658 Manu id 20b6 Product version a3 Product version cvs rev#163 Product version 0 | 163 <HardwareRevision id='5776d' timestamp='1264547008.28' version='163' /

<Manufacturer id='5776d' timestamp='1264547008.28' mfg_id='8374' /> <ModelNumber id='5776d' timestamp='1264547008.28' model_id='18008' /> check cinqo Product id 4659 Manu id 2270 Product version a3 Product version cvs rev#163 Product version 0 | 163 <HardwareRevision id='5776d' timestamp='1264547008.77' version='163' /

<Manufacturer id='5776d' timestamp='1264547008.77' mfg_id='8816' /> <ModelNumber id='5776d' timestamp='1264547008.77' model_id='18009' />

The output from quarqd though is not matching what I am seeing on my Edge 500 head unit. quarqd output is listed below.

Is quarqd meant to be able to pair and parse data correctly with the GSC-10?

Thanks

Gareth

I posted on the Garmin forums about the problems I was having with the GSC-10, I figured they had nothing to do with the Quarq but perhaps they do. I have a 310XT as my head unit and the GSC-10 installed so that I can get indoor speed/distance readings for winter training. I don't have the cadence magnet installed on it since I don't want conflicting ANT+ cadence readings from both units. All the same, I don't get any speed readings from the GSC-10 to the head unit.

Thanks for the report. quarqd is intended to work with the GSC-10, but we have not tested it extensively. We will investigate.

As for the GSC-10 & 310XT, I can only suggest that you try it with the cadence turned on. All Garmin devices should ignore the GSC-10 cadence if the CinQo is present.

Yes I use the GArmin 705 and GSC-10 with my cinqo and cinqo magnet for indoor trainer rides. The 705 picks up the speed and distance from the GSC-10, but chooses the cinqo's cadence reading.

Hi Jim,

Any update on this or timeframe on looking into this?

Thanks
