What is the deal about Campy 11-speed? What Cinqo crankset(s) actually work with 11-speed and with what chainrings? And don't give me a "it may work" with this and that. Either it works or it does not. What cranksets have been tested (both standard and/or compact) with 11-speed? I am guessing there is some kind of patent/licensing bullshit from Campagnolo behind the fact that neither Quarq nor SRM offer power meters that can run 135bcd or Campy110/113bcd original Campy chainrings (well SRM actually do, but they don't really advertise it). So, what really is the problem? Personally I really don't care if I mix a (for instance) SRAM Quarq crank with my otherwise campy 11-speed drivetrain, but will it work? I am not really that fond of spending $1800 on a crankset and find out it chainsucks and doesn't shift. |

Cannondale SL crank with FSA 11-speed specific chainrings work fine. The chainrings have to be 11-speed specific and while campy cranks themselves are 135BCD you can use the FSA 11-speed chainrings in 130BCD for most any 3rd party crank and Cinqo will work - like I said, my SL crank with FSA works fine with my cinqo. |

Funny, Quarq states: "Does not work with FSA's 130 BCD Campagnolo compatible 11spd chainrings" on all cranksets, except for the Cannondale crankset that has no information whatsoever. And the Cannondale cranks are only available in BB30, right? 11-speed 130bcd Stronglight rings apparently exist, which? Stronglight's website is not much help. And as far as compact cranks concern, there are no 11speed 3rd party rings at all that will work with the Cinqo? I am pretty sure I could run a 10-speed SRAM, Rotor or FSA crank with an otherwise 11-speed drivetrain, heck, I've used a 10-speed Campy crank with 11-speed drivetrain without any problems. I mean the differences are just fractions of millimeters. The reason I ask was to find combinations that have been tried and tested (by users or by Quarq) that work, even if Campy or otherwise say it shouldn't work. |

No official comments from Quarq on this? Are you not interested in selling to Campy people or what? |

I got a word from competitivecyclist.com (i'm buying from them) that only Rotor3D crank will work on Campy 11 speed as of the moment. |

We are aware of no problems from anyone running standard 10 speed rings with Campy-11 chains. Like you said, the difference is fractions of a millimeter and it doesn't amount to much difference. The FSA 'Campy-11' rings don't calibrate very well (the big and little ring have a 5% difference in slope). The Stronglights do calibrate nicely but can be hard to get a hold of in the US. My suggestion would be to pick your favorite 10 sp rings and run with them. - Jim |

Jim, is the thickness of the spider, ie the section that the 2 chainrings bolt to, not an issue using a 10sp crankset with 10sp chainrings & 11sp chain? I was thinking about the gap between the chainrings being now too big & the 11sp chain falling between the 2 chainrings during shifting? Or, are you saying you need an 11sp crankset using 10sp rings & 11sp chain? Sorry if I've expressed this poorly..... Cheers, Phil |
