Could you tell me the difference between these two cranks? Thanks. |

The S975 is a higher level Sram crank, if I'm not mistaken. It seems like Sram is marketing it as more of a slot near Force/Red and the S900 as more of a slot b/w Rival/Force. The S975 also comes with Red chainrings (unless you get the compact). |

I hope they beefed up the Red chainrings. |

"I hope they beefed up the Red chainrings" How many Red chainrings have busted? I know there is the odd internet report, but statistically speaking it must be pretty low. That said, I'm going S975 with Force rings, purely for aesthetics. |

I believe the 975 arms were designed by SRAM specifically for use with and only available on powermeters (quarq and SRM) whereas the 900 was not and is available as a full crankset. Further, the 900 appeared rebranded as a Bontrager and Truvativ brand crank in various places int he past. The 975 only comes as a SRAM product. |

And like the guy above, we're all buying the 975 purely for the bling, not necessarily for the function, lol. I'd LIKE to say that as a cat 2 it's important to me, but really, I see all these guys in the peloton with the s900, and I just wanna be the first with the 975 :) |

Oh trust me, this IS bling. Only problem is that with this setup ya gotta do a lot of pulling... http://www.flickr.com/photos/walkingincircles/4371588392/ |

Will the 975 be available for compact cranks, or will it only be the 900? |

I'm intend to buy this http://auctions.findtarget.com/detail_product/180586648098/quarq/ Can you tell me if it's an S975 or S900 model? It says that it is "Based on SRAM's S900 crankset, but uses Red chainrings". |

That's the S975 model. |
